Wolves plan £4m bid for Leeds goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell

ลิ้ ง sbo Wolverhampton Wanderers are being linked with a move for Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.The Sun on Sunday reports (June 10th, page 60) Wolves are planning a 'shock £4 million bid' for Peacock-Farrell, who emerged as Leeds' number one in the latter part of last season.

And it is claimed the newly-promoted side want the Northern Ireland international as well as Sporting Lisbon's Rui Patricio.Wolves goalkeeper John Ruddy was named in the Championship's team of the year after helping his side to the title, while understudy Will Norris impressed in the cups.

Wanderers also have Carl Ikeme on their books, ลิ้ ง sboลิ้ ง sbo although the Nigerian missed the whole of last term through illness. And a move for Peacock-Farrell, in addition to Rui Patricio, would surely raise doubts over the trio's futures at Molineux.

Leeds are expected to strengthen their own goalkeeping options this summer, with Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan failing to convince last season, and losing Peacock-Farrell may not be ideal. ลิ้ ง sbo

Disabled Celtic fan whose wheelchair was broken in Ryan Christie collision will attend Champions League match

sbo A disabled Celtic supporter whose wheelchair was broken in a collision with a player will attend tonight’s Champions League match after help from the Record and our readers.Tony McKenna, 58, was accidentally knocked over by Parkhead midfielder Ryan Christie who clattered into him following a touchline challenge.

The incident, during the second half of the match against Standard Liege on Saturday saw Christie careering into the South Stand.Tony, from Livingston, who had been in the front row, wasn’t seriously injured but his wheelchair was damaged in the collision and he thought he would be unable to make tonight’s match.

Following a plea in yesterday’s Record for a replacement chair he will take up his usual place at Celtic Park after a football-mad family came to his rescue.Several readers offered to help including fellow Celtic fan Pauline Stewart from Airdrie.Pauline offered Tony a wheelchair that belonged to her mum Margaret Drein who passed away recently.

sbo She said: “Our family is Celtic-daft and as soon as I read about Tony’s situation I thought we could help out.“I wouldn’t like to see anyone struggle to get about and my mum was always keen to help others out.“She believed one good turn deserved another, that was her way of looking at life.”

Pauline’s son Michael, 25, drove the 40-miles round-trip to deliver the wheelchair last night.Tony has been forced to use a wheelchair since severing nerves in his spine after tripping while on honeymoon in Turkey four years ago.He said: “I was determined to get to the game one way or another. The only days I really get out are going to the football.

“I just want to say thanks to Pauline and Michael for helping me out.”He suffered a bit of a sore neck and was attended to by paramedics and the club doctor but he was more concerned with missing tonight’s game against Alashkert. sbo

Swansea looking at Rangers' Declan John

sbo168 Swansea City are interested in signing Rangers defender Declan John, Sky Sports News understands.John is yet to feature for Rangers, outside pre-season friendlies, since Steven Gerrard took over as manager at Ibrox as he has favoured former Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan.

sbo168 He could soon be pushed further down the pecking order as well, seemingly making him available for a return to Wales.Rangers are close to signing another left-back, with a £2.2m deal in the works that would bring Borna Barisic to Ibrox.

Barisic impressed Rangers during the Europa League clash with his current employers FC Osijek.John joined Rangers on loan last summer but that deal was made permanent in December and sbo168 he went on to make 31 appearances. The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Cardiff and has been capped five times at senior level by Wales, also representing his nation through the youth age groups.
